03 / ACCESSIBILITY
medienkita.de is intended to be understandable, perceivable, and usable by as many people as possible. The design target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
The website is designed toward this target. A complete accessibility audit has not been completed; full conformance is not claimed.
Measures included
- semantic page structure with landmarks and a logical heading hierarchy,
- a skip link, visible focus states, and keyboard operation,
- text alternatives for meaningful images,
- responsive presentation down to 320 CSS px and robust text wrapping,
- adequately sized controls and information that does not rely on color alone,
- support for reduced motion and forced-color modes,
- locally served fonts and no autoplay media.
Testing status
Testing date: September 13, 2026. The German and English pages were checked structurally and visually in Chrome, including the Wix-hosted output at desktop width and 320 CSS pixels. Checks covered headings, landmarks, image alternatives, language switching, keyboard navigation, visible focus, and horizontal overflow. A 200% browser-zoom test was also performed on the local version.
These are limited technical and visual checks, not a comprehensive WCAG audit or certification.
Known limitations
A comprehensive review with screen readers and across multiple browsers is still outstanding. Reduced-motion and forced-color rules are present in the stylesheets, but have not been fully validated with assistive technology. Further barriers may therefore exist.
Please use the contact below to report a barrier. Reports will be reviewed and used to guide further improvements.
Report a barrier or request support
If you encounter a barrier or need information in another format, email a.streble@medienkita.de. If possible, include the affected page, the device or assistive technology you used, and a short description of the issue.
